One of the newest HP inkjet printers for the home segment affected is the Photosmart C6380. It is a multi-function can print, scan and copy with the routine printing activities. Furthermore, it is a photo printer as well.
The printing is thermal based technology that uses heat to deposit tiny droplets of ink on paper. Maximum print resolution is set to 9600 X 2400 dpi.
Print speed is top notch for this printer at 33ppm for monochrome and 31ppm for color quality in the design phase.Improve print quality to normal sharply reduced to the speed of printing 12 pages per minute and 9ppm for monochrome and color respectively .. Each 4 "X 6" photograph takes about 30 seconds at normal quality print.
Scan quality is comparable with the print quality at 4800 X 9600 dpi. A 4 "X 6" photograph takes about 20 seconds to be scanned and imported to MS Word. Scanning text with OCR to MS Word takes about 15 seconds.
HP offers a variety of connectivity options for thesePrinter. It can connect to a standalone computer via USB 2.0 and networking via Ethernet and Wi-Fi. Optional Bluetooth kit is also available for connecting to your Bluetooth-enabled devices such as mobile phones. The printer can also function sans PC via memory card readers.
On the negative front, the printer offers a maximum paper capacity of 125 pages that are small even for home use. The planned monthly print volume of about 2500 pages is on the lower side. The lack of an LCD --Screen for displaying images and a PictBridge port are remarkable.
The printer has a suggested retail price of 249 EUR. However, HP is offering the same printer at a discounted price of 99 EUR.
